These candles produce a uniformly warm, amber/yellow light with a pretty realistic flicker. Just push the switch on the bottom to ‘light’ or ‘extinguish.’ I left them on for many hours over the Christmas holiday and the batteries held just fine. The bulbs were still cool to the touch even after 12-14 hours of operation.

They look best in frosted, light-colored votive candle holders. Darker votives absorb much of their light but they still look fine.

I first got one of these nifty little storage units for my room. Once my roommate saw it he just had to get one for himself (he’s a big eco buff). So we have a Red and Orange duo standing right next to each other.

I couldn’t believe how strong and durable the zBoards from Way Basics are! I have stored everything from my gym shoes, heavy textbooks, CD’s, DVD’s, even Vinyl. Assembly was a cinch; I didn’t even need the instruction guide! Can you say that for Ikea furniture?

My initial concern was the 3M industrial strength double-sided tape. However the way the pieces are constructed, the zBoards are essentially supporting themselves with the horizontal zBoards resting on the vertical zBoards. The tape is super sticky and holds the boards together incredibly well. I guess if they use tape in airplanes, they can use it in furniture, genius!

The bottom line: it’s eco, it’s colorful, the price you can’t beat and assembly was as easy as 1, 2, 3. Way Basics is Way cool!

I bought two of these over a year ago and have been very happy. They are pretty sturdy, even when full, fold up easily if you need to move them, and look better than your usual metal or plastic shoe racks. The only caveat is that they could stand to be about an inch wider – I wear a size 10.5/11 (a pretty standard size) and it just barely fits three pairs across. Depending on the style of shoes you wear, you may not fit 6 shoes per rack, which would decrease the utility of this item.
